Have you ever had one of those hectic days that you have to literally brace yourself in the morning for. You know you’re going to be all over the place, rushing from work, to go run errands or a meeting, then off to dinner or a night out with friends. I’m sure we’ve all had those days and the last thing you want to worry about is picking out multiple looks. You have so many other things to worry about. On days like this, I like to of course plan ahead but most importantly I make sure to wear transitional pieces. Transitional pieces are pieces that can be worn in multiple ways and with various accessories. Generally, these pieces are classics. So let’s get started:
Transitional Pieces Used:
1. Black Oversized Sweater
2. A Statement Clutch (Available Here)
3. A Statement Necklace
Look # 1
Depending on where you’re going first this look can be worn to work(depending on your dress code or on Casual Friday) or to brunch. In this look, I tucked the oversized sweater in to shorten the length and create this chic look.
Look # 2
I know me, and when I’m running errands, going in and out of places or in a rush I prefer to be in flats. As much as I love heels, it’s not always the best option if you’re in a rush and have a schedule to stick to. In the first look, I cuffed my jeans twice, this shortens the jeans to draw more attention to my heels. In look #2 I released one of the cuffs for a more casual look.
Look # 3
Change: Jeans and Shoes
Whether you’re going out with the girls or rushing off to dinner, this is the perfect transition. The perfect thing about oversized sweaters is that you can alter and adjust them. The stretch allowed me to alter the neckline and stretch it over my shoulders. This is an easy way to spice up any look.
Hope you guys enjoyed this segment. Think I’ll be doing this more. I love classic and transitional pieces. I’ve ironically been working down and purging my closet down to all classic and key pieces. Purging out the trendy items and items that I no longer wear. It’s almost crazy how much my closet has shrunken but I now feel like I have a lot more options of clothing to wear. Before I had a closet jammed with clothes but I could NEVER figure out what to wear or even remember what I had. I literally had a section of clothing that still had tags on them. Crazy… I know. I focus on quality now as oppose to quantity.
I’ll be discussing the art of purging your closet next. Hope you guys are having a great week!
Stay focused and inspired!
Love you guys!
