It has been a little over a month, actually going on two months since I quite my job! I left my corporate job to venture out to what I love doing, which is creating clutches and women’s accessories. It has been an experience! I must say that although I have a tendency to be my worst enemy because I’m constantly over-thinking and setting high expectations for myself. I have to continuously remind myself that it has only been two months! Thus far it has indeed been a journey. I’ve learned so much about myself, my business and future goals.
Since quitting on February 13th, 2015, my handmade clutches are now in a local boutique, not only are they in a local boutique but I am also a fashion merchandiser which gives me first hand experience and knowledge about inventory, business planning, sales, forecasting and product placement! Also, I launched my SS2015 collection as well (Click Here to View)! To add to all of that greatness, I am also the assistant coordinator for a upcoming hair and fashion show! Exciting right! I know! I still of course focus on Calibri Designs, my brand gets the most attention. I have simply decided that anything that I am involved in whether another business venture, partnership or contract work it has to benefit my brand. It may sound a bit selfish but this is how I look at it. I’ve worked under others since I was 16 years old. I’ve put my passion and talents on the back burner for too long. So now that I have the opportunity to truly flourish and shine, I want to take advantage of every opportunity possible that allows me to grow my brand and expand.
I am looking forward to what the remainder of 2015 has to bring. This first quarter has been amazing for me! I’ll be sure to of course keep you guys updated!
